The students of Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Bangaloe South, carry out a range of fund-raising activities and charities throughout the year like ‘Coin for Country’, reaching out to old age homes, government, etc. This year, the students joined hands for a noble cause by making their valuable contributions towards ‘Sunday Santhe’.
On 15th October 2017, ‘Sunday Santhe’ was organised in school premises. The students and teachers donated the unused items which are in good condition, to the nearby villagers, who are ready to use them. They donated clothes, books, electronic gadgets, utensils, etc. to those in need. Our students and teachers volunteered to come on a Sunday and the smiles they had on their faces sum up the joy of giving. The works done by the NCC Cadets are commendable. The aims of the event were to increase a sense of social connectedness, empathy and responsibility as well as improving personal and social welfare. To encourage a benevolent community from within, it is also necessary to provide experiences with the community beyond the school as well. By immersing students in a school culture that values building fundamental character attributes and the awareness of the significance of their contributions, they are empowered to make themselves and the world a better place. They learnt the art of ‘giving back’, the most important art of living.
