In today’s digital age, students use the internet for learning, communication, and entertainment. With this increased connectivity comes the risk of cyber threats, such as data breaches, identity theft, online scams and cyber bullying. Our school was privileged to host Mr. Sebastian, an eminent Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), and Master Trainer from INTERPOL on Technology Crime investigations. With over 40 years of experience in security, vigilance, cyber and hi-tech crime investigations, including 20 years with the Indian Air Force and 10 years with the CBI, Mr. Sebastian shared his vast knowledge. He is also associated with the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children and UNICEF India, focusing on the investigation of computer-facilitated crimes against children. With the help of case studies and interactive quizzes, Mr. Sebastian shared vital information about the implications of social media posts and the sharing of information on the internet. The session was highly engaging, offering students real-life examples of how careless online behavior can lead to privacy breaches, cyberbullying, and even long-term reputational damage. By understanding the risks and learning proactive steps, students left the session more aware of their digital footprint and how to protect themselves in an online environment.
