Students of Grades VIII to X participated in an enriching Electricity and Magnetism Workshop at the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (@vismuseum.blr) on 28th June. Through hands-on activities, they explored the concepts of static electricity, electromagnetism and electromagnetic induction. Students built four working models: Electric Repulsion, demonstrating the triboelectric effect; a Toy Motor, showing the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy; an Electric Bell, illustrating the use of an electromagnet; and an Electromagnetic Generator, where moving a magnet through a copper coil generated electricity to light an LED. The visit to the museum's Electric Gallery further enhanced their understanding of electrical inventions and applications. The workshop provided an exciting opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-life scientific principles, fostering curiosity, teamwork and a deeper appreciation for science through practical experimentation.
